Before Your Visit

Everything you need to know for a relaxing sauna + cold plunge session.

We want your time here to feel easy from the moment you arrive. Take a few minutes to review the information below before your first visit.

What to Bring

Bring a swimsuit, a water bottle, towel and anything you normally like to have after swimming or sauna.

We recommend:

  • Swimsuit

  • Water bottle

  • Towel

  • Sandals or easy slip-on shoes

  • Warm, comfortable clothes for after your session, especially in winter

  • A hat or beanie for cold-weather visits

Please leave valuables at home whenever possible.

Add the Nordic Essentials package when you book to include a towel, robe, felted wool sauna hat and electrolyte packet.

What to Wear

Swimwear is required for moving between the sauna, cold plunge and outdoor shower.

Choose something comfortable that doesn't have metal pieces that could become hot in the sauna.

Hydration

Come well hydrated and bring a water bottle. Sauna and cold exposure can both be physically demanding, and you'll lose fluid through sweating.

Water is the best choice before, during and after your session. Filtered water will be provided in the lounge.

Reserve a hydration station for your group that includes a selection of non-alcoholic beverages, ice water and electrolytes (including frozen fruit pops).

Parking & Arrival

Street parking is widely available, but consider carpooling if possible.

Please arrive anytime after your session start time where your host will meet you behind the gate to get you settled in.

Because we're located in a residential neighborhood, please be considerate of our neighbors when arriving and leaving.

Bathroom & Changing

Guests have access to a private bathroom for changing and restroom use.

Outdoor Shower

An outdoor cold water shower is available for rinsing before and after your sauna or cold plunge.

We ask all guests to take quick rinse before entering the cold plunge, particularly if you're wearing lotions, oils, makeup or other skincare products. This helps us keep the water clean and comfortable for everyone without using harsh chemicals.

Please avoid using soap or shampoo at the outdoor shower. The lounge bathroom has a regular indoor shower.

Using the Sauna

There's no prize for staying in the sauna the longest.

Sit or lie on a towel and choose a bench position that feels comfortable. Heat exposure should feel challenging but manageable—not like something you need to endure.

Take breaks whenever you want. You can move between the sauna, outdoor space, shower and cold plunge throughout your reservation.

Please:

  • Keep water bottles outside the hottest areas unless they're designed for high temperatures.

  • Don't bring glass into the sauna or plunge area.

  • Don't use oils, lotions or other products on the sauna benches.

  • Keep food out of the sauna.

  • Follow posted instructions for the sauna heater and controls.

  • Never pour anything other than approved water onto sauna stones.

Most importantly, listen to your body and get out if you feel dizzy, faint, nauseated, confused, unusually short of breath or otherwise unwell.

Using the Cold Plunge

Cold plunging is optional. You don't need to plunge to enjoy your session.

If you're new to cold exposure, start conservatively. Enter slowly and deliberately, concentrate on steady breathing and get out whenever you've had enough.

Longer isn't necessarily better.

Never challenge another guest to remain submerged, hold their breath underwater or push beyond their comfort level.

Do not dive or jump into the plunge.

If you feel faint, confused, numb beyond what you'd expect from brief cold exposure, have difficulty breathing normally or otherwise feel unwell, exit immediately and warm up gradually.

Sauna + Cold Plunge

You can alternate between hot and cold during your session, but there is no required sequence or number of rounds.

A simple first visit might look like:

Sauna → rest → brief cold plunge → rest → repeat if desired.

Your session isn't a competition or endurance test. The goal is to leave feeling better than when you arrived.

Alcohol & Drugs

Please arrive sober.

Alcohol, cannabis and other intoxicating substances can interfere with judgment and with your body's response to heat and cold. Do not use the sauna or cold plunge while intoxicated.

We reserve the right to end or refuse a session if we believe someone's ability to participate safely is impaired.

Maximum Occupancy

Your private reservation accommodates up to 8 guests, depending on your booking.

Only registered guests who have completed the required waiver may use the sauna, cold plunge or other amenities.

Please don't bring additional guests without arranging it with us in advance.

Session Timing

Your reservation is for 120 minutes and includes changing and transition time.

Your session begins and ends at the scheduled time rather than when you enter the sauna, so arriving late unfortunately won't extend your reservation.

Please begin gathering your belongings and changing with enough time to leave the space by the end of your scheduled session.

Children & Minors

Guests under 18 are not allowed.

Health & Safety

Sauna and cold exposure place additional demands on the body and aren't appropriate for everyone.

Talk with a qualified healthcare professional before participating if you are pregnant; have cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled high or low blood pressure, a history of fainting or seizures, impaired circulation or temperature sensation; take medications that affect blood pressure, heart rate, sweating or temperature regulation; or have another medical condition that could affect your response to significant heat or cold.

Do not participate if you're currently ill, feverish, dehydrated, intoxicated or otherwise not feeling well enough for heat or cold exposure.

This isn't an exhaustive list. You are responsible for deciding whether sauna and cold exposure are appropriate for you and for following any advice or restrictions provided by your healthcare professional.

Stop immediately if you feel unwell. In an emergency, call 911.

Every participant must review and sign our waiver before using the facilities.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Plans change. Reservations may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before your session.

Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are non-refundable.

If severe weather, equipment problems or another issue on our end prevents us from safely providing your session, we'll contact you and offer your choice of rescheduling or a full refund.

Rainstorms are a magical time to be inside the sauna so we don’t allow cancellation due to rain or light snow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the sauna and cold plunge private?

Yes. When you reserve a session, the space is reserved for you and your registered guests. You won't be sharing your session with another booking.

I've never used a sauna or cold plunge. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many guests are beginners. Start conservatively, take breaks and listen to your body. The cold plunge is always optional.

Do I have to cold plunge?

No. Your reservation is yours to enjoy. Use the sauna, plunge, shower and relaxation areas however you'd like within our safety guidelines.

How long should I stay in the sauna?

There isn't one ideal amount of time for everyone. Temperature, sauna experience, hydration, health and personal tolerance all matter. Instead of trying to hit a particular number, leave the sauna whenever you feel ready for a break.

How long should I stay in the cold plunge?

Especially for beginners, brief exposure is enough. There is no benefit to turning your plunge into an endurance contest. Exit whenever you feel you've had enough.

Can I pour water on the sauna rocks?

Only use plain water and follow the posted instructions. Never pour essential oils, fragrances or other substances directly onto the heater or stones.

Can we bring drinks?

Water and other non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. Please don't bring glass into the sauna or cold-plunge area.

Alcohol is not permitted before or during sauna or cold-plunge use.

Can I bring food?

Food is not permitted inside the sauna or immediately around the cold plunge.

Is there a shower?

Yes. A cold water outdoor shower is available for rinsing before and after your session. Note, the shower and cold plunge are not available in the winter months. An indoor shower is available year round.

Is there a bathroom?

Yes. Guests have access to a nearby private bathroom.

What happens in bad weather?

We're an outdoor experience, so ordinary Minnesota weather is part of the fun. However, we won't operate when conditions make the experience unsafe.

If we need to cancel your reservation because of severe weather or unsafe conditions, you'll have the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

What about winter?

That's when things get interesting.

The sauna is designed for year-round enjoyment. We'll provide seasonal arrival instructions when snow, ice or extreme temperatures require them.

The cold plunge tub and outdoor shower are not available in the winter.

Can I bring my phone?

Yes, but don't take it into the sauna unless the manufacturer specifically says it can tolerate those temperatures. Heat can damage phones and other electronics.

We encourage putting it away anyways.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes. Every participant must complete the waiver before using the facilities. Copies for all guests will be available when you arrive.

What if I have a medical condition and I'm not sure whether sauna or cold plunging is safe for me?

We can't determine whether heat or cold exposure is medically appropriate for you. Talk with your healthcare professional before participating if you have questions or concerns about your individual health.
